Jere Stricklin To David D. Sloan

This Indenture made this 26th April in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred 
and thirty nine between Jere Stricklin of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina 
of the one part & David D. Sloan of the County of Sampson & State aforesaid of the other 
part witnesseth the said Jere Stricklin for and inconsideration of the sum of Twenty 
Dollars the Receipt whereoff is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold Alienated confirmed 
over & delivered unto the said David D. Sloan of the second part a certain tract or parcil 
of land lying  on the west side of the Rail Road butted & bounded as follows to (viz) 
begining at a stake on the County Road and runing thence so 18 Et 8 poles to a stake thence 
so 70 west 4 pole & 12 feet to a stake thence 18 west 8 pole to a stake thence as the County 
Road to the Begining containing by estimation the fourth of one acre being more or Less to 
have and to hold to enjoy & possess the above described land and all its appurtenances 
thereunto belonging tohim the said David D. Sloan his heirs & assigns forever and the said 
Jere Stricklin doth covenant & agree to warrant & defend the above Land from him his heirs 
Executors & administrators unto him the said David D. Sloan his heirs Executors & administrators 
and assigns forever and the said Jere Stricklin further agree to warrant & defend the above 
land unto him the said David D. Sloan against the Right or title claim or claims of any or all 
persons whatsoever In Testimony whereof the said Jere Stricklin doth hereunto set his hand and 
affix his seal this day & and date above written
