Jeremiah Pearsall Clerk Bond 1839
State of North Carolina
Know all men by these presents that we Jeremiah Pearsall James Pearsall & Wm D. Pearsall
are held & firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars
to the which payment we bind our selves our Heirs &c jointly & severally firmly by these
presents sealed wit our seald and dated this 24th Septr 1839 The condition of the above
obligation is such that whereas Jeremiah Pearsall is now in the charge of the officer of
Clerk of the Superior Court for Duplin County now in case the said Jeremiah Pearsall do
well & truly & faithfully discharge his duties as clerk then this obligation to be paid &
of no effect otherwise in full force & virtue

Personally appeared in open Court Jeremiah Pearsall James Pearsall & William D. Pearsall
the obligors to the within Bond and acknowledged therein mentioned the Court accepted the
said Bond & it is ordered that the same be registered

Know all men by these presents that we Jeremiah Pearsall James Pearsall & Wm D. Pearsall are

money to the payment of which we bind our selves our Heirs our exesutors & administrators jointly
& severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 24th day of September
1839 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas Jeremiah Pearsall above bounden
is the acting clerk of the superior Court of law for the County of Duplin & hath in his custody
the Books & papers belonging to the said Office Now in case the said Jeremiah Pearsall doth well
& faithfully keep the said Records and well and faithfully account for all monies which may come
into his hands by virtue of his officer of Clerk aforesaid and in all other things truly & properly
conduct himself in the discharge of his official duties then the obligation to be null & void
otherwise to remain in full force and virtue
