(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Bool 1 A Page 220, & 221 Jeremiah Chubbuck To Thomas Bennet Deed for 63 acres lands This indenture made this twenty eight day of August one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, between Jeremiah Chubbuck of the one part, and THomas Bennet of the other part and County of said, That I the said Jeremiah Chubbuck for the consideratiom of thirty six pounds ten shillings specie to me in hand well and truly paid before the sealing and delivery hereof I do acknowledge myself fully satisfied & contented and I do hereby acquit, and discharge the said Thomas Bennet his heirs executors and administrators, hath bargained sold conveyed & confirmed by these presents doth for myself my heirs executors asministrators or assigns hath granted bargained sold conveyed and forever confirmed unto the said Thomas Bennet his heirs or assigns all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the aforesaid County of the west side of white oak branch being the land that the said Chubbuck lived on, between the said Bennet's own land and Jacob Miller's land. Begining at a holly and a water oak on the runt of white oak branch & runs along said Thomas Bennet's line So. 82 Wt. 140 pole to a pine, thence So. 15 Et. 10 pole to a pine on Jacob Taylor's line, thence along his line Et. 30 pole to a pine, his corner, thence along his other line So. 35 Et. 66 pole to a white oak Christopher Burche's corner, thence along his line Et. 14 pole to a maple his corner on the run of white oak branch, thence up the run as it meanders to the begining, containing sixty three acres of land being patend first day io April 1780, with all houses buildings pastures woods ways waters and courses & all profits & advantages whatsoever belonging to the said land & appurtaining as full and firm a rite as the said Chubbock has by the patend & every part & parcel unto the said Thomas Bennet his heirs executors admins. and assigns and the said Chubbock himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns do agree to & with the Bennet, his heirs & assigns shall from time to time & at all times peacebly occupie possess & enjoy all the above mentioned land and premises belonging thereunto, without any trouble of him the said Chubbuck or any person or persons whatsoever freed discharged & from all and all manner of former sales gifts grants intails rents or any other claim made by him them or any of them according to the true intent of this present. Furthermore the said Jeremiah Chubbock hath set his hand & seal this 28th August 1784. Jeremeiah Chubbuck Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us John Gibbs Jacob Millard Duplin County July Court 1785.
