J E. Hussey Shff To Thomas Hill

Bill Sale

North Carolina Duplin County

Know all men by these presents that I John E Hussey Sheriff of the County aforesaid for and 
in consideration of the sum of fifty Dollars and Twenty five cents to me in hand paid the 
rect of which I do hereby acknowledge have sold and deliverd unto Thomas Hill a certain 
Negro Woman named Hanner forty five years old which was sold by virtue of an execution in 
the name of Alexr Carter against Nicholas Medlin and Thomas Hill becaim the last and highest 
bidder and for the payment of which I warrant and defend the rite and title of said Negro  
so far as the office of Sheriff authorises me so to do In witness whereof I have hereunto set 
my hand and seal this 22nd Octr AD 1839

The Execution of the within Bill of Sale is duly proved in open Court by the oath of Hargit
