James Chambers To Michael Glisson
Deed for 300 acres lands
This indenture made this tenth day of November in the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred & eighty seven in the eleventh year of our Independence. Between
James Chamber of the County of Duplin & State of North Carolina planter, of the one part
& Michael Glisson ofr the County & State aforesaid, planter of the other part witnesseth
that I the said James Chambers do for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds
specie to me in hand paid by the said Michael Glisson before the ensealing & delivering
of these presents, the receipt whereof I the said James Chambers doth hereby acknowledge
myself fully satisfied & paid & of every part and parcel hereof doth hereby acquit
exonerate & discharge him the said Michael Glisson his heirs & assigns forever, & have
given granted bargained & sold conveyed & confirmed unto Michael Glisson his heirs
executors administrators & assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land containing
three hundred acres, situate lying & being in the County of Duplin & State aforesaid, on
the south side of the No. Et. in the fork between Camp branch & outlaw's mill swamp.
Begining at a pine near Dennis Glisson's line & runs No. 40 Wt. 220 poles to a red oak,
thence So. 50 Wt. 220 poles to a pine, thence So. 40 Et. 220 poles to a hickory, thence
to the begining, the said land patend by Michael Glisson, patent bearing date the twenty
second day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy & he the said Michael
Glisson his heirs executros administrators or assigns. To have and to hold the above
bargained land and premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any ways
appertaining to him the said Michael Glisson his heirs & assigns forever, to his or their
only proper use benefit & behoof, & I the said James Chambers do for myself my heirs
executors & administrators covenant and agree to & with the said Michael Glisson his heirs
& assigns, that they may & shall from time to time & at all times hereafter by force &
virtue of these presents lawfully peacibly & quietly have hold use occupie possess & enjoy
the above bargained land and premises with all the appurtenances to the same belonging or
in any wise appertaining, without any interuption of him the said James Chambers his heirs
executors administrators or any other assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever,
& I the said James Chambers do fror myself my heirs executors administrators warrant &
forever defend the above bargained land and premises unto the said Michael Glisson his
heirs executros administrators or assigns forever against the lawfull claim of me my heirs
executors administrators or any other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day & date first above written.
