James Wilson To Willis Wilson Deed 17 August 1838

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book B 11 Page 37 & 38 Deed of Gift for negros Know all men by these presents that I James Wilson of the State of North Carolina and County of Sampson for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which I have and bear unto my Son Willis Wilson of the State and County of Duplin and gives good Causes and consideration me hereunto and aspescially for the better maintance and improvement of my Said Son Willis Wilson have given granted delivered conveyed & made over and confirmed unto and by these presents do give grant convey make over and deliver unto him the Willis Wilson his heirs and assigns forever my Negro boy Nelson aged nearly fourteen years and my negro girl Silvah aged nearly thirteen years to have and to hold the aforesaid granted negroes unto him the said Willis Wilson his heirs exers. admis. or assigns from and against me the Said James Wilson my heirs Exers. Admis. or assigns as also from and gainst the lawfull claim or claims of all and other every other person or persons whatever in witness whereof I the said James Wilson have hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal this 17th day of August 1838 Witness James Wilson Nathan M. Warters William Warters State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions April Term 1839 The execution of the within deed is duly proved in open Court by the oath of Nathan M.
