(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book B Page 218 & 219 No. 1229 Granted to James Whaley two hundred acres of land in Duplin County on both sides of the Ceader fork or prong of Muddy creek including Thomas Davis's improvements. Begining at a water oak in the edge of a pond the North side of the Swamp. Thence East 200 poles to a water oak in persimmons branch. Thence crossing the swamp So. 160 poles to a poste. Thence Wt. 200 poles to the white oak. Thence North crossing the swamp 160 poles to the begining. Dated the 16th day of November 1790 Alex. Martin James Dickson, reg.
