James Rogers To Jobe Rogers
Deed for 200 acres Land
This Indenture made the thirteenth Day of February in the thirteenth year of
American Independence and In the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven Hundred
and Eighty nine Between James Rogers of the State of No. Carolina and County of Duplin
of the one part and Job Rogers of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the
said James Rogers for Diverse good causea and considerations him thereunto moving But
more especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds current money
of the state aforesaid To him in hand paid by Jobe Rogers aforward before the Ensealing
and Delivery of these presents as also for the Lave and affection which he Doth Bear
unto his said son Job Rogers for which Reasonsa the said James Rogers doth hereby
acknowledge himself to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid hath by these
presents given granted Bargained sold assigned and set over to the said Job Rogers his
Heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being
in Duplin County aforesaid on both sides of Carrs Branch Begining at a pine and hickory
on the south side of the branch a little below the Mouth of Beetrice Branch thence
crossing the branch No. 10 Et. 90 poles to a stake in a Meadow Hudgeons line thence his
line No. 50 Wt. 60 poles to a Lightwood Stump a pine and White oak by a pond his corner
thence his other line Wt. 180 poles to a pine his corner thence along a line of 250 acres
Patened by Fredrick Lewis So. 160 poles to a pine a Little So. of Carrs Branch thence
continued the same course Ten poles to a stake thence Down the So. side of the Branch a
straight Line to the first station containing in the whole Two Hundred acres be the same
more or Less. To have & to hold the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appurtainances
to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to Every nature or kind whatever to
him the said Job Rogers his Heirs and assigns forever and the said James Rogers the
aforesaid Land and premises to him the said Job Rogers his heirs and assigns shall and
will warrant and forever Defend from and against him the said James Rogers his heirs and
assigns as also from and against the Just and Lawfull claim of all and Every other person
or persons whatever who may hereafter Lay and Lawfull claim to the same In Witness whereof
the said James Rogers hath hereunto set his hand and seal Date above written
signed sealed and Delivered

I Job Rogers do by these presents accept of the above Two Hundred acres of Land as my full
part of my Father James Rogers Land in this County and Do acknowledge that I am therewith
fully satisfied & further should my Father James Rogers Die without a will I will not Calim
any part of his Lands having now Received my full share Witness my seal this 28th Febuary 1789
