James Outlaw To Benjamin Herring
Deed 200 acres
This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven Hundred and ninety one Between James Outlaw of Duplin County in the state of north
Carolina planter of the one part and Benjamin Herring of the same state and County aforesaid
of the other part Witnesseth that I the said James Outlaw for and in consideration of the
sum of Fifty pounds specie Money to him in hand paid by the said Herring. The Receipt whereof
I do hereby acknowledge myself therewith satisfied contented and paid Every part and parcel
thereof Do Exonerate acquit and Discharge the said Benjamin Herring his heirs Executors
Administrators and assigns forever by these presents have given granted Bargained sold
aliened conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give
grant bargain and sell unto the said Benjamin Herring his heirs and assigns forever one
Tract or parcel of Land containng two hundred acres lying and being in Duplin County on the
north side of Goshen Swamp. Begining at a Blackjack on the Head of Groundnut and runs Et.
254 poles to a blackjack thence north 127 poles to a stake in the centree of three pines
cypresses in the said pond thence Wt. 254 poles to a pine thence to the Begining. To have
and to hold the said Bargained premises with all the appurtain previledges to the same
belonging or in any wise appurtaining to him the said Benjamin Herring his heirs and assigns
forever to his and their own proper use benefit and behoofe forever and I the said James Outlaw
or me my heirs and assigns do agree that before the Ensealing hereof I am the true sole and
Lawful owner of the above Bargained premises and am Lawfully seized and possessed of the said
in mine own proper Right as a good perfect and absolute Estate of Inheritance and have in
myself good rightfull power and Lawfull Authority to grant Bargain sell and convey and confirm
the Bargained premises in Manner as above and the said Benjamin Herring his heirs and assigns
shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by virtue of these presents
have hold use occupy and enjoy the said Demised premises with all the appurtainances free and
clear and freely and clearly acquit exonerate and Discharge of and from all manner of former
Rights grants bargains sales leaces mortgages Intails Dowrys Judgements and Incumbrances or
the Lawfull Claim or Demands of any person or persons the same will warrant and forever Defend.
In witness I the said James Outlaw Do hereunto set my hand and fix my seal the day and year
above written.
