Deed: James Knowles and Nancy Knowles to Isam Sellers.
Dated: 17 October 1778. 

Trans.: 160 pounds for 250 acres "on a branch of
Rockfish Creek Beginning at a Black Jack So called near a marsh that is
above a Beaver dam and above said Knowles Plantation." Deed mentions a
dividing line between James Knowles and John Knowles. Land was part of 1000
acres granted to Samuel Swann and conveyed by deed to Caleb Mason.
