James Mills To John Cranford Deed 10 January 1792

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 457, & 458 James Mills To John Cranford Bill of Sale for Easter a negroe North Carolina Duplin County Sold to John Cranford one negroe Girl Easter for the sum of Fifty five pounds Current money of this State the Receipt whereof I the said James Mills do hereby acknowledge myself Contented and paid and farther I do warrant and forever Defend the said negroe Easter unto him the said John Cranford his heirs and assigns forever the Title claim and Demand of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal This 10th of January 1792. Henry Maxwell James Mills James Maxwell S. State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1792 Then was the within Bill of Sale proved in open Court by the oath of James Maxwell and ordered to be Registered. Test W. Dickson, C. C.
