(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 252, 253, & 254 James McIntire To William Hall Deed 200 acres This Indenture made the nineteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and ninety one, and in the fifteenth year of the American Independence, Between James McIntire of the County of Duplin and state of North Carolina Planter of the one part, and William Hall of the same County and state planter of the other Witnesseth That for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds good and Lawfull money of the state aforesaid to him the said James McIntire in hand well and Truly paid by William Hall aforesaid at and before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold alienated Enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien Enfeofe convey and confirm unto the said William Hall his heirs and assigns forever, all that peice or parcel of Land on the west side of the No. East River it being part of a Tract of five hundred and Eighty acres Formerly patened by William Dickson Archibald Gillespie and Andrew McIntire Patent bearing date the 23d day of December 1763 and being all that part of the aforesaid Patent That lies on the west side of the said No. East river which the aforesaid James McIntire purchased of William DIckson and Lidia GIllespie Executrix to the Last Will and Testament of Archibald Gillespie Decd. by a deed bearing Date the fifth day of January 1788. Begining at a stake on the River bank at the said William Halls corner below his Plantation and Runs his line So. 85 Wt. 200 poles to a stake in the pocoson thence So. 194 poles to a stake. Thence No. 70 Et. along the patent line to the River bank, and thence up the River as it Meanders to the Begining containing Two hundred acres be the same more or Less. To have and to hold to him the said William Hall The said Two hundred acres of Land and premises more or Less to him his heirs and assigns forever and the said James McIntire doth further warrant and engage to and with the said William Hall to warrant and Defend to him the said William Hall his heirs and assigns the Quiet and peaceable possession of the said Two Hundred acres of Land and premises from and against the Just and Lawfull Claim of him the said James McIntire his heirs Executors administrators and assigns and from and against all manner of person or persons whatever. In witness whereof the said James McIntire hath hereunto set his Hand and seal the Day and Date above written. signed sealed and Delivered In presence of James McIntire Thomas Routledge James Dickson State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of James Dickson and ordered to be registered.
