State of North Carolina Duplin County
Know all men by these presents that we James Jernegan Junr & Stephen B. Jernegan
are held & firmly Bound unto David Witherington in the full & just sum of one hundred
Dollars which payment well & truly to be made and done we bind ourselves and each
of our heirs jointly & severally firmly by these presents sealed with our seal, and dated
the 18th day of March in the year of one Thousand eight hundred & thirty seven. The
condition of the above obligation is such that the above Bound is James Jernegan Junr.
And Stephen B. Jernegan do within six months after the said James Jernegan Junr.
Arrives at the age – Twenty one years make or cause to be made Daniel Witherington
a good and sufficient Title to to the one forth of one hundred & thirteen acres of Land lying
on Nickle Meadow Branch William Creeches line and Neds marsh then the above obligation
to be void or also remain in full force and virtue. In witness whereof we have hereof we have
hereunto set our hands and seals do & year first written
