James Evans To William Hall Deed 22 July 1790

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 41, 42, & 43 James Evans To William Hall Deed 100 acres This Indenture made the twenty second day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety and in the fourteenth year of the American Independence. Between James Evans of the state of North Carolina and County of Duplin Planter of the one part, and William Hall of the same State and County, Planter on the other part. Witnesseth that for and In consideration of the sum of twenty five pounds Current money of the State of No. Carolina aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid by William Hall aforesaid before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell assigns Transfer and set over unto the said William Hall his heirs and assigns forever one certain Tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Duplin and State aforesaid on the No. side of persimmon swamp. Begining at a pine thence No. 127 pole to a pine by the Pocoson. Thence Wt 127 pole to a stake by a pine. Thence So 127 pole to a small pine. Thence to the Begining containing in the whold one hundred acres be the same more or less. It being granted by a paten to the aforesaid James Evans Patent Bearing Date the Twenty ninth day of October 1782. To have and hold the aforesaid Land and premises with all the appertainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said William Hall his Heirs and assigns forever Free and Clear of all manner of Right Title Claim and Demand of all and every Person or persons whatever Claiming by from or under him the said James Evans his heirs or assigns. To the only proper use Benefit and behoofe of him the said William Hall his heirs and assigns forever, and the said James Evans for himself his heirs and assigns, doth covenant promise to and agree to and with the said William Hall his heirs and assigns. To warrent and forever Defend the above mentioned Land and premises and every part and parcel thereof to him the said William Hall his Heirs and assigns. Forever against all and all manner or persons whatever. In witness whereof the said James Evans hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and date first above written. signed sealed and delivered James Evans in the presence of us Alexander Dickson Hugh Boney State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1790 Then was the within Deed acknowledged in open Court & ordered to be Registered.
