(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 12 Page 169, & 170 James Dunn to William F Price Deed 186 acres State of North Carolina Duplin County This indenture made this 28th day of December In the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight and thirty nine Between James Dunn of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and William F Price of the same County & State of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of Eighteen Hundred and sixty dollars to the said James Dunn in hand paid by William F Price at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the Rect whereof is acknowledged thereof to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien confirm convey Enfeoff and set over unto William F Price the following messuage tract or parcil of land situate lying & being in the County and State aforesaid and on the west side of Goshen Swamp (To wit) Begining at a water oak post oak and sweet gum Hicks corner and runs along his line So 125 poles to a black jack and pine marked as pointer near or at the corner of the fence Faisons corner thence along his line East 125 poles to a post oak his other corner thence along his other line No 49 Et 74 poles to a post oak his other corner thence No 72 Et 72 poles to the main run in Goshen thence up said Run as it meanders 88 poles to the mouth of the Long Branch thence up the run of said Branch as it meanders to the mouth of the Ditch thence up the Ditch as it meanders to the Begining containing one hundred and Eighty six acres to have and to hold the Before Bargained land and premises with all proffits privaledges hereditaments or advantages whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said William F Price his heirs Extrs adms or assigns forever and the said James Dunn doth for his part bind & oblige himself his heirs Extrs adms and assigns to warrant secure and forever defend the before bargained land and premises free and clear of and from the just and Lawfull claim or demand of all and every other person or persons whatsoever claiming any Right title intrust or Property in the same or any part or parcil thereof In Witness whereof the said James Dunn have hereunto set hand & seal day & date first written signed sealed and delivered In the present of James Dunn Witness D Jones D L Hurst State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of please & Quarter Sessions January term 1840 The Execution of the within deed is duly acknowledged in opin Court by James Dunn and is ordered to be Registered Copy N Routledge Rgr Test James Dickson Clk
