James Chambers & Jane Middleton to Charles Chambers
Deed for Land
This Indenture made this 17th day of July 1839 between James Chambers & Jane Middleton
of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina of the one part & Charles Chambers
of the same place of the other part witnesseth that the said James & Jane for in consideration
of the sum of one hundred dollars to them in hand paid hath granted bagained sold set over
& delivered and do by them presents grant bargain sell & set over & deliver unto the said
Charles Chambers a certain parcil of Land in the County & State aforesaid it being one half
of the Lands that was laid off by the survyor to Abram Chambers out of the Lands of Samuel
Chambers Decd & situated as follows (viz) Begining at a water oak on the Run of Cabin Branch
& runs then South 18 wt 14 poles to a stake then so 80 et 252 poles to a stake then No 10 Et
75 poles to a pine then No 80 wt 214 poles to a small ash on the Run of Cabin Branch then up
said Run to the Begining the whole containing ninty seven & half acres to have & to hold the
said bargained Lands and premises to the said Charles Chambers & his Heirs forever And we the
said James Chambers & Jane Middleton do for our selves & our Heirs & assigns forever warrant
& defend the title of the said Lands to the said Charles Chambers & his heirs free from all
incumbrance & from and against the claim of any perosn whatever witness my hand & seal the
date above
