(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book B Page 116 Jacob Wells Senr. two hundred and seventy acres of land in Duplin County on the head of Bens Creek and on both sides the Marsh branch. Begining at a water oak in Reedy branch on William Well's line. Thence as the same Wt. 70 pole to a pine the corner thence said Wells's line of a survey patened by Elijah Bowen No. 98 pole to a white oak and poplar the corner. Thence the line of a fifty acre survey, patened by the said Jacob Wells North 90 pole to a pine Wt. 98 pole to a pine & black jack So. 90 pole to a pine Wt. 64 pole to a pine. Shadrach Stallings's corner, thence his line to his corner & past No. 10 Wt. 180 pole to a pine. Thence crossing Marsh branch & up through the fork due East and across the Main Road in all 280 poles. Thence to the begining. Dated the fifth day of November 1787
