Jacob Best To Jere Pearsall
Deed 115 acres
This Indenture made this eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one
thousand and thirty eight between Jacob Best of the County of deception in the
State of North Carolina of the one part and Jeremiah Pearsall of the same place
of the other part witnesseth that the said Jacob Best for and in consideration of the
sum of Four hundred and sixty dollars to him in pade before the exution and deliveren
of these presents hath granted bargained sold set over and delivered and do by these
presents grant bargain sell set over and deliver unto the said Jeremiah Pearsall a
certain tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the county of Duplin on the
west side of the North East river it being part of a patent of three hundred & fifty acres
to Benjamin Folsom in the year 1767 beginning at a large gum in Smith branch Stephen
Millers corner and runes with his line North 67 East 52 poles to a stake thence North 22
west 151 poles to a small white oak thence west 40 pole to a pine and jack in Joseph
Wells line then with his line So. 10 Wt 44 pole to a pine in Smith branch thence down
the run of said branch as it meanders to a poplar Stephen Millers corner thence to the
beginning containing by estimation one hundred and fifteen acres be the same more or
less to have and to hold the said bargained Land and premises to the said Jeremiah
Pearsall and his heirs forever and I the said Jacob Best do for myself my executors
administrators and assigns for ever warrant and defend the title of the said bargained
land and premises with all its improvements and advantages to the same belonging or
in any wise appertaining to the said Jeremiah Pearsall and his heirs free from all
incumbrances and from and against the claim of any person or persons whatsoever In
witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day & year first written
