Ivey & McRee To Meshack Stallings
Deed 1140 acres
This Indenture made this thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord on thousand
seven hundred and ninety and in the fourteenth year of the Independence of America.
Between Curtis Ivey and Griffith John MdRee of the State of North Carolina of the one
part and Meshack Stallings of the County of Duplin and State aforesaid of the other
part. Witnesseth that for and consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty
pounds to the said Curtis Ivey and Griffith John McRee in hand paid by the said
Meshack Stallings the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged they the said Curtis
Ivey and Griffity John McRee hath granted bargained sold and confirmed unto the said
Meshack Stallings his heirs and assigns Two certain tracts or parcels of land situate
lying and being In the County of DUplin on Rockfish Creek to wit. one containing five
hundred and fifty five acres Begining at Pine and Cypress on the Creek Bank the lower
corner of another survey that lies above and runs out along said corner No. 380 poles
to three pines by a pocoson thence Et. 240 poles to a pine, thence So. 360 po. to a
water oak and Cypress on the Creek bank, thence up the Creek as it meanders to the first
station, be the same more or less. The other tract adjoining the above mentioned Tract
and containing five hundred and Eighty five acres. Begining at a small cypress on the
North bank of Rockfish Creek about fifty yards below the mouth of Cummings Creek, Thence
No. 400 poles to a pine, thence Et. 240 poles to three pine by a pocoson, thence So.
380 poles to a pine and cypress in the edge of Rockfish Creek THence up the Creek as it
meanders to the first station be the same more or less as by Deed Patents bearing date
the twenty fourth day of October 1786 will more fully appear which said piece or parcel
of Land with all the previledges, buildings, improvements and appertainances to the same
belonging or in any wise appertaining as possess and enjoyed by the said Curtis Ivey and
Griffith John McRee they for themselves, their selves and assigns to him the said Meshack
Stallings his heirs and assigns doth by these presents, sell Bargain, alien, set pever
and alien forever, free and clear of all incumberances, the premises aforesaid, and doth
hereby covenant and agree to warrant and defend the aforesaid, Tracts or parcels of Land
to him the said Meshack Stallings his heirs and assigns forever together with all the
previledges and appertainances to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining from
the just claim, right of title, of all manner of persons whatsoever. In witness whereof
the said Curtis Ivey and Griffeth John McRee hath hereunto set their hand and seals the
day and year first above written.
