Isaac Dawson To Alex. Graddy
Deed for 150 acres lands
This indenture made between Isaac Dawson of the County of Duplin & province of
No. Carolina planter on one part, and Alexander Graddy of the same County & province
aforesaid planter on the other side, (witnesseth) that the said Isaac Dawson for & in
the consideration of the sum of ten pounds specie to him in hand paid by the said Alex.
Graddy the receipt whereofr the said Isaac Dawson doth thereby confess & acknowledge,
that the said Isaac Dawson hath granted bargained & sold unto the said Alexr. Graddy &
to his heirs and assigns forever one parcel of land containing one hundred & fifty
acres, be the same more or less, lying in Duplin on the east side of the North East
River, & on the North Side of Burncoat swamp. Begining at a gum in the side of the
said swamp by John Graddy's corner & runs his line No. to a poast oak agreed corner
tree, thence agreed line to the mouth of the Race path Branch, thence with the course
of the branch to the back line, thence So. 22 Et. the course of the patten to a pine
on the side of the swamp, thence to the begining, the patent bearing date the 23rd
of Decr. 1779, the Alexander Graddy him his heirs & assigns forever. To have and to
hold each & singular every part and parcel thereof, to their only proper use and
behoofe, without any interuption of the said Isaac Dawson him his heirs or assigns or
any other person whatsoever, & furthermore that the said Isaac Dawson him his heirs or
assigns doth make the same clear of all other incumbrances to be had made or by him or
any other person from time to time and at all times forever hereafter warrant and
defend the above bargained premises to the said Alexander Graddy & to his heirs and
assigns forever, to their only proper use & behoofe. In witness whereof the said Isaac
Dawson hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal this sixteenth day of April 1787.
