Henry Bulls To Patrick Newton
Deed for 150 acres lands
This indenture made the eighty day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred & eighty six. Between Henry Bulls of State of State of North Carolina County
of Johnston of the one part & Patrick Newton of the same State & County of Duplin of the other
part. Witnesseth, that the said Henry Bulls for & in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds
specie to him in hand paid by Patrick Newton the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge &
himself therewith fully satisfied contented & paid & of every part and parcel thereof doth
exonerate acquit and discharge the said Patrick Newton his heirs executors and administrators
forever by these presents, have given granted bargained sold enfeoffed conveyed confirmed
assignes & set over unto the said Patrick Newton his heirs & assigns and by these presents the
said Henry Bulls for himself his heirs executors & administrators doth fully freely & absolutely
given grant bargain sell enfeoffe convey confirm assign & set over unto the said Patrick Newton
his heirs & assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the State
of North Carolina & in the County of Duplin on the east side of Bear Swamp, joining said Mainss
land and Thomas Hills land. Begining at a small pine Felix Frederick's line, & runs thence No.
25 Et. 180 pole to a stake on the back line, thence No. 40 Wt. 120 pole to a stake by a water
oak in a pond by said Richard Mainses corner, thence along Thos. Hills line So. 35 Wt. 104 pole
to a pine thence So. 72 Wt. 34 po to a red oak, thence So. 18 Wt. 70 pole to a pine, then So.
45 Et. 80 pole to a white oak, thence No. 80 Et. 20 pole to a white oak, thence So. 25 Et. 60
pole to a pine & thence to the begining, & containing in the whole one hundred and fifty acres
of land, be the same more or less it being the upper part of a patent of two hundred acres which
was granted to John Murrow by patent bearing date the first day of July in the year of our Lord
one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine, reference being thereunto had may more fully and at
large appear. To have and to hold to him the said Patrick Newton his heirs and assigns forever
all and singular the above said one hundred and fifty acres of land & premises with all the
benefits previledges appurtenances thereon or thereunto in any wise belonging or appertaining
in as full and ample a manner as the said Henry Bulls by his grant or patent for the same could
or might enjoy and further the said Henry Bulls for himself his heirs executors and
administrators doth hereby covenant promise grant & agree to and with the said Patrick Newton
his heirs & assigns, that the said Henry Bulls his heirs executors administrators shall and will
forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents warrant secure & defend the said Patrick
Newton his heirs executors administrators & in the quiet and peaceble possession of all and
singular the said one hundred and fifty acres of land and premises hereby bargained & sold from
and against him the said Henry Bulls his heirs & assigns & from and against all and every person
or persons whatsoever claiming or to claim any right title property or interest of in and to
the said one hundred and fifty acres of land and premises or any part or parcel thereof & that
free and clear freely & clearly discharged kept harmless & indemnified off & from all manner of
incumbrance whatsoever. In witness whereof he the said Henry Bulls hath hereunto set his hand
& seal the day and date above written.

Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of Austin Moore & ordered
