Hill 110 Acres State of North Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made this the 13th March Eighteen hundred & thirty nine Between Henry Bowden of the County & State afforesaid & William L Hill of the other part of the County & State above mentioned Witnesseth that I the said Henry Bowden have this day bargained & sold & do by these presents bargain & sell & make over to the said William L Hill for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred and seventy five dollars to me in hand paid by the said WIlliam L Hill the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained & sold a certain tract of parcil of Land lying & being in the County of Duplin on the North East side of White Oak adjoining the Lands of William L Hill & Wilson Bowden Begining at a Black Gum on the Run on the Run of Whooppole Branch a leatle below the mouth of a Small Branch and Runs North 40 Et along the branch and then a ditch through the field 156 pole to a stake at the fence thence so 50 Et along the fence 19 pole to a small pine thence No 22 Et 270 pole to a stake thence No 66 wt 20 pole to a Stake in James Bizzells line thence south 20 wt 57 pole to a pine and Sassafrsa in the Edge of whooppole pocoson thence down the pocoson west 22 pole to a pine & Maple in pocoson at the whoopole Branch thence down the Run of said Whoopole Branch as it meanders to the Begining containing one hundred and ten acres be there the same more or Less to have and to hold unto the said William L Hill his Heirs Executors Administrators & assigns whereas the said Henry Bowden firmly & jointly on part do bind myself my heirs Executors administrators and assigns to these presents & do further warrant & forever defend the above Bowden Lands unto the said Williams L Hill his heirs &c forever against the Lawfull claim of all manner of persons whatsoever In witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 13th March AD 1839 signed sealed & delivered in the presents of these was bargained & sold interlined in the Body of the deed before signing Henry Bowden H Bowden W. H. Jernigan State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of please & Quarter Sessions July term 1839 The Execution of the within deed is duly proved in open court by the oath of Holstead Bowden one of the subscribing witnesses thereto and is ordered to be Registered Test James Dickson Clk Copy N Routledge Rgr
