(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 305, & 306 Gillespie & Burton To Robert Dickson Deed for 250 acres lands To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that we Watson Burton & James Gillespie both of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of five pounds current money of the State to us in hand well & truly paid by Robert Dickson of the said County of Duplin, the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge, and ourselves therewith to be fully satisfied content & paid and thereof & of every part and parcel thereof do exonerate acquit and discharge the said Robert Dickson his heirs executors & administrators forever by these presents, have given granted bargained sold conveyed confirmed assigned & set over unto the said Robert Dickson his heirs and assigns forever, all our intenst property claim or demand whatsoever of in & to one certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying & being in the County of Duplin aforesaid between Maxwell swamp & Elder swamp, & between Holden's & Powell's lines. Begining at at a water oak on the run in Elder swamp Robert Dickson's corner on Patrick Powells line & runs thence along Robert Dickson's line Wt. 120 pole to a red oak his corner, thence No. 20 Wt. 150 to a stake on an old line, thence along said old line No. 82 Wt. 40 pole to a pine the corner thereof, thence South 300 pole, thence Et. 220 poles to Powell's line, & thence with his line to the begining, & containing by survey 250 acres of land be the same more or less, being the whole contents of a patent granted to the said Watson Burton & James Gillespie, bearing date the fourth day of March 1775, which said land we give & grant tot he said Robt. Dickson his heirs & assigns forever, free and clear off and from the lawfull claim & demand of us or either of us as our heirs executors administrators forever. In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands & seals this 22nd day of June 1780. Watson Burton James Gillespie Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of us Wm.
