(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 12 Page 93, 94 & 95 Giles T Loften Extr of Joseph Witfield To Daniel Jones Deed 93 acres State of North Carolina Duplin County This indenture made the 23rd day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Thirty nine between Giles T Loftin Extr of Joseph Whitfield Decd of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and Daniel Jones of the same State and County of Duplin of the other part witnesseth that for and inconsideration of the sum of Ninty four Dollars to the said Giles T Loftin Extr of Joseph Whitfield Decd in hand paid by Daniel Jones at or before the sealing and delivery of These present the Rect whereof is acknowledged thereof to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sell alien confirm convey Enfeoff and set over unto Daniel Jones all the following messuage tract or parcil of Land that was left by the will of Joseph Whitfield Decd to be sold by the Extr situate lying and being in the County and State aforesaid Bounded as follows (To wit) Begining at a Black gum water oak and ash on the Run of the North East and runs so 10 wt 48 poles to a pine in the marsh on Loftins line then so 5 wt 100 poles to a Walnut tree on Elisha Jones Line thence along his line So 76 Et 94 poles to a pine Daniel Jones corner thence as his line Et 141 poles to a pine standing by the side of the mill pond thence down Round the mill pond and marsh Joining the wet and dry land to D. Jones line thence as his line west 16 poles crossing a part of the marsh to the western Edge thence along the Edge of the marsh Joining the wet and dry Land to a Small Black gum near the little mill Dam thence south 83 wt 8 poles to a Stake thence No 9 Et 20 poles to a pine thence No 83 Et 8 poles to a Stake at the Edge of the marsh below the End of the little mill dam thence No 5 Et 74 poles to a maple on the Run of the Northeast thence up the run of said North East as it meanders to the Begining containing Ninty three acres to have and to hold the before bargained land and premises free and clear of all manner of incumbrance or incumbrances whatsoever with all priveledges profits hereditaments and appurtenances thereon or thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Daniel Jones his heirs Extrs adms or assigns forever and the said Jiles T Loftin Extr as aforesaid doth for his part bind and oblige himself his heirs Extrs adms or assigns to warrant secure and forever defend the before bargained Land and premises as far as he is enabled to do by virtue by virtue of the will of the late Joseph Whitfield Decd from and against the Just and lawfull claim or demand of all and every other person or persons Whatsoever claiming any Right Title intrest or property in the same or any part or parcel there of in Witness Whereof the said Giles T Loftin has hereunto set his hand and seal day and year first Written signed sealed and delivered in the presents of Witness Jessy J Baker Wm Grady Giles T Loftin State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions October Term 1839 the Execution of the within deed is Duly proved in open Court by the oath of Wm.
