Geoge Willis To Ambrose Enzor
Deed for 150 acres lands
North Carolina Duplin County. This indenture made the twenty fourth day of May in the year
of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty six, & in the tenth year of American
Independence. To all to whome these presents shall come greeting. Know that I George Willis
of the County & State aforesaid planter, hath & by these presents, for an in consideration of
the sum of seventy pounds specie to me in hand well and truly paid or secured to be paid by
Ambrose Enzor of Sampson County and State aforesaid planter, the receipt whereof I do hereby
acknowledge and herewith am fully satisfied & content & by these presents do acquit &
discharge the said Ambrose Enzor his heirs executors & administrators & assigns & I have by
these presents do give grant bargain sell assign set over & convey to the said Ambrose Enzor
one certain tract or parcel of land in the State and County afoaresaid lying on the west side
of Rockfish Creek. Begining at a cupress in the swamp, thence runing west to the second
corner at a pine, thence a south course to a pine in the center of that line of the survey &
corner at a pine, thence through the old survey & east course to the swamp & corner at a
white oak it being half and the upper part of a three hundred acre survey granted by Robert
Knowles to Jonathan Willis containing one hundred and fifty acres, be the same more or less
together with all and singular the houses and buildings & all other the improvements of
whatsoever kind or nature on the premises, as also all the previledge advantages & benefits
to the same land belonging or in any wise appertaining, unto the said Ambrose Enzor his heirs
administrators and assigns forever, and I the said George Willis do be these presents for me
my heirs executors administrators & assigns do covenant promise grant and agree to and with
the said Ambrose Enzor his heirs administrators & assigns in manner following, that is to say,
the said Ambrose Enzor his heirs executors administrators & assigns, shall and may from time
to time and at all times hereafter quietly & peacebly hold occupie possess & enjoy the
prebargained premises & every part and parcel thereof, free & clear of all and from all manner
of imcumbrances whatever, had made or done by me the said George Willis furthermore I the said
George Willis do by these presents for me my heirs executors administrators and assigns, do
promise grant & agree to and with the said Ambrose Enzor his heirs & assigns the prebargained
premises with every the premises & appurtenances thereunto belonging from the lawfull claim &
demand of any person or persons whatever, I have and will warrant and defend forever by these
presents. In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the date above written.
