(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 134, 135, & 136 George Smith To Mary Worsley Deed 200 acres This Indenture made the Sixty day of September in the year of our Lord on thousand seven hundred and ninety. Between George Smith of Duplin County and State of No. Carolina of the one part and Mary Worsley of the County of Dobs and State aforesaid a single woman of the other part. Witnessess that I the said George Smith for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds specie to me in hand the receipt whereof I the said George Smith do hereby acknowledge myself therewith fully satisfied continted and paid and of every part and parcel thereof do Exonierate acquit and Discharge the said Mary Worsley her heirs and assigns forever have given granted bargained sold aliened set over and confirmed and unto the said Mary Worsley her hers Executors administrators or assigns forever a certain Tract or parcel of Land situate in Duplin County on the East side of No. East on Panther swamp joining his own Land. Begining at a pine on the East Edge of the swamp on his uper line and Runs as the same So. 3 Et. 140 pole to a blackjack his corner thence the same Course continued 40 poles to a small hickory and blackjack thence No. 87 Et. 180 poles to a pine thence No. 3 Wt. 180 poles to a pine thence to the begining containing two hundred acres it being a Tract of Land Granted to the said George Smith by patten bearing Date the 24th Day of Febuary 1779 as by Record Doth appear including the Improvements whereon Jones Boyet lived on and Anthony Jones and to have and to hold the said Granted and Bargained Land and premises with all and singular the appertainances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining with all Revertion and Revertions Rents and services therein and thereon contained or In any wise appertaining to her the said Mary Worsley her heirs Executors administrators or assigns forever free and freely clear and clearly from all Incumberance whatsoever against me and my heirs and against all and every other person claiming from under me or their will warrant and forever Defend. In Witness whereof I the said George Smith have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the Day and year first written. signed sealed and Delivered George Smith In the presence of us William Barfield Joshua Wilkinson State of No. Carolina Duplin County January Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of William Barfield & ordered to be Registered.
