Frederick Wells To Aaron Williams
Deed for 15 acres lands
This indenture made the twenty fifty day of June in the tenth year of American
Independence & in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & eighty six, between
Frederick Wells of the County of Duplin & State of No. Carolina, planter, of the one part,
and Aaron Williams of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that
the said Frederick Wells for and in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds to him in hand
paid by the said Aaron Williams the receipt whereof the said Frederick Wells doth hereby
acknowledge and thereof doth acquit & discharge the said Aaron Williams his heirs & assigns
forever, he the said Frederick Wells hath granted bargained sold aliend & confirmed & by these
presents doth grant bargain sell alien & confirm unto the said Aaron Williams his heirs &
assigns forever a certain piece of land situate lying & being in Duplin County in said State
of a Branch of Rockfish Creek. Begining at a water oak at the run of Taylor's Creek at or near
the mouth of Deep Branch, thence runing So. 25 Et. 39 poles to a gum in said Deep Branch, thence
So. 85 Wt. along John Walker's old line to the main run of Taylor's Creek or the head of the
mill pond, thence up the run of said Creek as it meanders to the begining water oak, supposed
to contain fifteen acre be the same less or more, it being part of a survey of land patened by
the said Frederick Wells in the year of our Lord 1778, which said paten being registered in the
proper office, sitation being thereunto had may more at large appear togeather with all and
singular the woods underwoods profits commodities emoluments & heriditaments whatsoever to the
said premises belonging or in any wise appertaining & also the reversion & reversions remainder
& remainders of the said premises & of every part thereof with the appurtenances & also all the
estate right title interest claim & demand of him the said Frederick Wells of in and to the said
premise & every part thereof. To have & to hold the said lands & premises & every part thereof
with the appurtenances unto the said Aaron Williams his heirs & assigns, to the only proper use
benefit & behoofe of the said Aaron Williams his heirs & assigns forever, & the said Frederick
Wells for himself his heirs executors & administrators doth covenant promise & agree that the
said Frederick Wells at any time hereafter when thereunto required by the said Aaron Williams
his heirs or assigns at the proper cost & charges of the said Aaron Williams his heirs or
assigns shall and will duly make & execute any other deed or writing which may be necessary for
the better securing the title & possession of the said lands & premises unto the said Aaron
Williams his heirs & assigns & the said Frederick Wells for himself & his heirs the said lands
& premises and every part thereof against him his heirs and assigns & against all and every
other person or persons whatsoever to the said Aaron Williams his heirs & assigns shall & will
warrent and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the parties have hereunto set
their hands & seals the day & year first above written.

Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of Shadrack Stallings & ordered
