(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 141, 142, & 143 Frederick Glisson To Jesse Brock Deed for 100 acres lands To all to whome these presents shall come greeting. Know ye that I frederick Glisson of Duplin County & State of North Carolina planter, for and in consideration of the sum of twenty pounds to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents well and truly paid by Jesse Brock of the said State and County of Duplin planter, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied and contented and thereof every part & parcel thereof do acquit and discharge the said Jesse Brock his heirs executors and administrators forever by these presents, have given granted bargained sold alienated enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoffe convey and confirm unto him the said Jesse Brock his heirs & assigns forever, one messuage or tract of land lying & being in the County and State aforesaid and on the north side of Goshen seamp, on the mill branch. Begining at a black gum by the run in said branch and runs So. 45 Wt. 22 pole to a stake on William Taylor's line thence along his line So. 30 Et. 100 pole to a pine his corner, thence along his other line So. 40 Wt. 80 pole to a black jack, thence So. 36 polet to a pine on William Parker's line, thence along his line No. 70 Et. 62 pole to a small water oak at the run of the mill branch, thence up the run as it meanders to the begining, containing one hundred acres, being in said County. To have and to hold the said granted bargained tract of land with all the appertainances priviledges commodities thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Jesse Brock his heirs and assigns forever, to him his and their only proper use benefit and behoofe forever, and I the said Frederick Glisson for me my heirs executors administrators do covenant promise and grant to ans with the said Jesse Brock his heirs and assigns, that before the ensealing hereof I am the true and lawfull owner of the above bargained premises & am lawfully seized prssessed of the same in fee simple & have in myself good right and lawfull authority to sell L& convey the same in manner as above said and that the said Jesse Brock his heirs and assigns shall may and from time to tim & at all times forever hereafter by virtue of these presents lawfully and peacebly have hold possess and enjoy the said demised and bargained premises with the appurtenances free and clearly & freely and clearly exonerated acquitted discharged all and formal manner of former or other grants bargains sails mortgages wills dowers and incumbrances whatsoever further more I the said Frederick Glisson for myself my heirs executors administrators do exonerate promise and grant, and ingage the above demised premises to him the said Jesse Brock his heirs and assigns against the lawfull claim or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter, to warrant secure and defend, and that I the said Frederick Glisson my heirs and assigns administrators eighther or any of them shall and will at any time hereafter, at the reasonable request of the said Jesse Brock his heirs and assigns make do execute or cause & suffer to be made done at the proper cost & charges in the law of said Frederick Glisson his heirs, and such other deed or deeds convayences as the said Jesse Brock his heirs or assigns a perfect sure lawfull indoubtable right, and title to and in the said bargained and granted premises fee simple. In witness whereof I the said Frederick Glisson hereunto have set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of December 1783. Frederick Glisson Signed sealed & delivered in the presence of us John Swinson John Rogers State of No. Carolina, Duplin County, January Court 1785.
