(Transcribed by Josh Griffin) Deed Book 12 Page 131, 132, 133, 134, & 135 Executors of Alexander Dickson To George McGowen Deed for 5 tracts of Land containing 716 1/4 acres This Indenture made this Nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and fourteen between John Dickson of the County of Cumberland and Joseph McGowen of the County of Duplin Executors of the last will and testament of Alexr Dickson Esquire late of Duplin County deceased in the State of North Carolina of the one part and George McGowen of the County of Duplin & State aforesaid of the other part whereas the aforesaid Alexander Dickson Exquire did by his last will and testament bearing date the nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and thirteen direct that all his lands should be sold by his said Executors and the said John Dickson the said John Dickson and Joseph McGowen the Executors therein named having proven the will of the said deceased in the County Court of Duplin at July term 1814 and qualified thereto as Executors Now therefore this Indenture witnesseth that the said John Dickson and Joseph McGowen in pursuance of the last will & testament of the said Alexander Dickson and for and in consideration of the sum of thirty six hundred and Eighty Dollars and cents to them in hand paid or secured to be paid by the aforesaid George McGowen the said John Dickson and Joseph McGowen as Executors aforesaid have by way of Public vendue to the highest bidder bargained sold assigned conveyed confirmed released and forever set over unto the aforesaid George McGowen five certain tracts or parcils of land of the Estate of the said Deceased situate and being in the County of Duplin aforesaid bounded as follows: on the branches of the Golden Grove and the Branches of Maxwell Swamp the first of said tracts including the man plantation of the late Alexr Dickson Esquire deceased Begining at a Gum where the widow Evans branch and Snake Branch joins & runs up the various courses of Snake Branch to the mouth of the long branch thence up the various courses of the Run of the long branch to the mouth of the first Branch that makes out of said Long branch on the south east side thence up said Branch called Birey Branch about due south 40 poles to some ash bushes or Saplins thence as said Branch south 41 Et 28 poles to a pine thence south 66 poles to a pine a corner of the original deed from McCulloch to John Dickson thence as the deed west 96 poles to a pine thence No 34 wt 91 poles to a red oak thence west 78 poles to a black oak by the Main Road thence No 18 Et 44 poles to a white oak an old corner thence No 35 Et 170 poles to a pine thence So 70 Et 126 poles to a whtie oak & red oak thence No 55 Et 200 poles crossing the marsh Branch to a pine thence So 40 Et 108 poles to the Begining it being the contents of a deed of 300 acres from Joseph Dickson to Alexander Dickson bearing date the 13th day of June 1774 the second tract or parcil of land lying joining the above discribed tract on the south & south west and contains two hundred and thirteen acres being intended for the one third of a patent of 640 acres granted to William Rigby Joseph Dickson & Alexander Dickson the 25th day of July 1774 which third part was also deeded by said William Rigby & Joseph Dickson to Alexander Dickson as aforesaid as will appear of record third tract or parcil of said land contains one hundred & thirteen acres and it is a part of the above described tract of 640 acres Begining at a post by Sawneys Branch a corner of the patent thence as the patent line No 60 Et 88 pole to a hickory Saplin formerly Solomon Beasleys corner thence as Beasleys line No 51 Et 110 poles to two pines his corner thence No 39 west 234 poles to four pines by the Road on the patent line thence as the same to the begining it being the Land conveyed by Austin Beasley to Alexr Dickson the 25th day of August 1776 the fourth tract or parcil of said land is situate on Both sides of Sawnys Branch Begining at a stake Alexander Dicksons corner & Thos Magees so side of said Branch and runs with Bagees line No 60 wt 11 pole to a maple & gum saplings in the said Sawnys Branch thence no 5 Et 44 pole to a White oak & Black jack thence No 33 Et 22 1/2 pole to a Blackjack on Alexander Dicksons own line thence with his line so 2 wt to the Begining containing four and a quarter acres of land conveyed by deed from Thomas Magee to Alexander Dickson the Eighth day of May 1812 the fifty and last said tracts or parcils of land situate on the North side of Maxwell Swamp Begining at a water oak on the run of Reedy Meadow Branch and runs No 74 wt eighty four poles to a white oak thence so 46 wt 120 pole to a stake thence No 8 Et 36 pole to a stake thence No 30 Et 70 pole to a pine thence No 62 Wt 32 pole to a pine thence No 50 Et 100 pole to 2 pines thence so 39 Et 136 pole to a water oak in Reedy Meadow Branch thence with the run of said Branch as it meander to the Begining and (con) Eighty six acres more or Less which said tract of land was conveyed by Joseph Bray to Alexr Dickson by deed dated the 16th day of December 1812 To geather with all & Singular the members priviledges hereditaments advantages improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining of in and to the land and premises hereby granted to have & to hold the aforesaid Lands and premises with the appurtenances unto the said George McGowen his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said George McGowen his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Dickson and Joseph McGowen Executors as aforesaid for them and their Heirs the aforesaid Land and premises and every part thereof against them and their heirs shall and will warrant and as Executors of said Alexander Dickson they the said John Dickson and Joseph McGowen do agree further to warrant the said land and premises against the claim or claims of all and every other persons whatsoever to the said George McGowen his heirs and assigns forever in witness whereof the said John Dickson & Joseph McGowen Exrs of the aforesaid Alexr Dickson unto set their hands and seals at Duplin the day and year first above written signed sealed and delivered in presence of us John Dickson Joseph McGowen Jos Gillespie W Sikes State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of please & Quarter Sessions January term 1840 It appearing to the Court that Joseph Gillespie & W.
