Elizabeth Hollingsworth To Jacob Hollingsworth
Bill of sal for one negro
Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Hollingsworth (widow) of the
County of Duplin & State of North Carolina for and in consideration of one hundred
pounds specie, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge have bargained sold and
by these presents do deliver unto Jacob Hollingsworth of the County & State aforesaid,
a certain negro boy names Toney about fifteen years of age, reserving of said negro
to myself during my own natural life, & I do be these presents warrant & defend the
said negro boy Toney after my decease to him the said Jacob Hollingsworth his heirs
and assigns forever, from my heirs & assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever,
laying any just or lawfull claim thereunto. In witness whereof I have hereunto set
my hand & fixed my seal this fifteenth day of September Anno Domini 1787.
