Carolina Duplin County This Indenture made this seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one and in the fifteenth year of our Independence Between Isom Lanier and Elisha Williford both of the said County and State aforesaid Witnesseth that he the said Elisha Williford for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pound specie to him in hand paid by the said Isom Lanier The Receipt whereof he the said Elisha Williford hereby acknowledges himself therewith fully contented satisfied and paid and every part and parcel thereof fully freely and absolutely acquit Exonerate and Discharge him the said Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns forever I have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do freely fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell alienate enfeofe convey assign and forever make over and confirm unto him the said Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns a certain plantation Tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred acres being part of two hundred acres according to Paten be the same more or less the said being Patened by Joseph Pearce and surveyed October the 1st 1762 lying and being in our County of Duplin on the East side of the No. East of Cape fare River and No. side of Cypress Includeing his Improvements Begining at a pine above his Plantation near the swamp of Cypress Creek Running No. 45 Et. 180 poles to a small pine thence Wt. to a black gum Laniers Swamp So. Wt. to a white oak from thence to the first station. To have and hold unto the said Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns forever together with all Improvements appurtainances and previledges thereunto and to the only proper use benefit and behoofe of him the said Isom Lanier his heirs Executors administrators and assigns forever and the said Elisha Williford doth for himself his heirs Executors and administrators covenant grant and agree to and with him the Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns that he and they shall from time to time and at all times forever hereafter hold use occupy possess and enjoy the aforesaid Bargained premises and every part and parcel thereof without the Least Interruption molistation or hindreance of him the said Elisha Williford his heirs or assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and further that he the said Elisha Williford his heirs Executors administrators and assigns shall and will from time to time and at all times forever hereafter make do and Execute at the Reasonable of him the said Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns all such further conveyances and asshureances in the Law for the more perfect asshureing and conveying the aforesaid Land and premises unto the said Isom Lanier his heirs and assigns forever as by the said Isom Lanier Etorney Learned in the Law shall be devised advised or required and Lastly that he the said Elisha Williford his heirs Exers. and admrs. shall and will forever hereafter warrant and Defend the aforesaid peice of Land with the appurtainances premises and previledges thereunto belonging or any ways appurtaining unto him the said Isom Lanier his heirs Executors administrators and assigns against all manner of former or other gifts grants sails leases uses wills dowers intails covenant mortgages or judgements or other Incumbrances what nature kind soever by me the said Elisha Williford or any other person or persons whatsoever or whomsoever Laying any Lawfull Claim thereunto or any part or parcel thereof in as full and ample manner as any Lands are holden in this State. In witness whereof I the said Elisha Williford have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this day and year above written. Signed sealed and Delivered in presence of us Elisha Williford Bird Lanier Robert Cole State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within Deed proved in open Court by the oath of Bird Lanier and ordered to be Registered.
