Elisha G. Grimsley to E Cobb

Deade for 620 acres of land

This Indenture made this Twelth day of June in the year of our Lord on Thousand Eight hundred 
& thirty seven between  Elisha G Grimsley of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin 
of the one part and E Cobb of the County of Wayne and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth 
that the said Elisha G Grimsley for inconsideration of the sum of three hundred and Twenty 
dollars to me in hand paid by the said Enoch Cobb before the signing and delivering of these 
presents the receipt and payment whereof is acknowledged and hath bargained sold aliened convaid 
and delivered and by these presents do Bargain sell alien convey deliver and forever confirm unto 
the said E Cobb his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of parcil of Land situated lying 
and being in said County of Duplin on the south side of North Easte and on Polea Bridge Branch 
Begining at a Blackjack Barfields corner then with his line No 105 pole to a white oak on the old 
Roade thence his other line No 55 wt 260 poles to a white oak Watkins corner of a new survey 
thence with thath line No 20 wt 132 pole to a pine in a meadow then so 35 wt 14 pole to a pine 
Bowdens corner thence south 92 poles to a pine then so 45 wt 112 poles to a pine his other corner 
on the side of a small Branch then with Watkins other line so 35 wt 100 pole across poll bridge 
branch to a pine John Whiteheads corner then so 65 Et th the run of Poli Bridge Branch then the 
meanders thereof 175 pole to a Bay and maple in the mouth of a pronge of Poli Bridge Branch then 
up the various courses of the south Pronge there of to Jones'es corner in the in the mouth of the 
Tailor Branch Then up the various of the same to a pine Jones'es corner on the Tailor Branch then 
No 100 pole to the old corner then East 200 poles to a gum in a pocoson thence No 25 wt 90 poles 
to a black jack the Begining containing by estimation six hundred and twenty acres be the same more 
or less and may more fully appear by having redfference to the said potners and deads and other 
original convaacey to it Levin Watkins to Peter Watkins and Peter Watkins to John Messer and Messer 
to James Grimsley James Grimsley to Elisha G Grimsley by will and I the said Elisha G Grimsley to 
the said E Cobb to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with all and singular the appurtenances 
privelidges and advantages of whatsoever to the same belonging or in any ways appurtaining to him 
the said E Cobb his heirs and assigns forever to his and their Benefit and further more I the said 
Elisha G Grimsley for myself my self my heirs and assigns forever do bind and oblige hour selves 
to warrant secure and forever defend the aforesaid premises with all and every porte and parcil of 
the same in witness whereof I here unto set my hand and seal the day & date above Ritten signed
