Grimsley John Grimsley dead to E Cobb for 620 acres land This indenture made this thirteenth day of July in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and thirty six between John and Elisha G. Grimsley of the state of No Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part and E Cobb of the County of Wayne & State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John & Elisha G Grimsley for In consideration of the sum six hundred and Twenty Dollars to them in hand paid by the said E Cobb before the signing & seal of these presents the receipt whereof is acknowledged hath bargained sold aliend convaid & delivered and by these presents do bargain sell alien convey deliver & forever confirm unto the said E Cobb his heirs & assigns forever a certain tract or parcil of land situate lying & being in our said County of Duplin on the south side of North East Prong of and on Pollibridge Branch Begining at a Blackjack Barfields corner then with his line No 105 pole to a white oak on the old Road thence his other line No 55 wt 260 pole to white oak Watkins corner of his new survey thence with that line No 20 wt 132 pole to a pine in a meadow then so 35 wt 14 pole to a pine Bowdens corner thence so 92 poles to a pine then so 45 wt 112 poles to a pine his other corner on the side of a small branch then with Watkins other line so 35 wt 100 poles a cross poly bridge branch to a pine John Whiteheads corner then so 65 Et to the Run of Poly bridge branch the meanders thereof 175 pole to a Bay and maple in the mouth of a prong of Polly bridge branch then up the various courses in the mouth of Taylors Branch then up the various courses of the same to a pine Jamess corner on the Taylor Branch then No 100 poles to the old corner then Easte 100 poles to a gum in a Pocoson thence no 25 wt 90 poles to black jack the Begining containing by estimation six hundred & Twenty acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with all and singular the appurtenances parcelway and advantages of whatsoever nature laws tot he same belonginig or in any wise appertaining to him the said E Cobb his heirs & assigns forever to his and their own proper Benefit and behoof and further I the said John & Elisha G. Grimsley for my self our hires and assigns forever do binde and oblige our self to warrant secure and forever defend the aforesaid land premises with the appurtenances to him the said E Cobb his heirs and assigns forever against the Lawfull claims or demands of any person or persons whatever In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written E.
