Edward Dunkin To Stephen Jones
Deed 150 acres
This Indenture made this sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord Christ one
thousand seven hundred and eigthy seven between Edward Duncan of the province of No.
Carolina in the County of Duplin of the one part and Stephen Jones of the other part.
Witnesseth that the said Edward Duncan for divers good causes and consideration him
thereunto moving but more especially for the Valuable sum of Thirty pounds to him in
hand well and truly paid before the sealing & delivery of these presents the receipt
whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himself therewith too be fully satisfied and
paid and he doth hereby acquit and Discharge the said Stephen Jones there heirs Excrs.
and assigns hath granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed and for him himself
his heirs Executors administrators doth fully freely and absolutle grant bargain sold
convey and forever confirm unto the said Stephen Jones his heirs and assigns one
certain tract or parcel of land one hundred and fifty acres of Land lying and being
on the South side of the North East branch of Cape fare and on the head of deep
gully branch and Bounded as follows begining at a water oak in deep gully branch
thence along Elijah Joneses line No. 72 Et. 239 pole to a large pine his corner
thence So. 45 East 270 pole to the begining pine in the patent thence No 50 west
to a pine standing in or near that line a consented corner thence along a line of
marked trees to the turn of the branch known by the name of the waterin hole of
deep gully and down the various courses of the branch to the begining containing
one hundred and fifty acres of Land be the same more or less to have and to hold
the said bargain premises together with all the appertainance and every part and
property thereunto belonging and the Edward Duncan doth covenant and engage for him
self his heirs Excrs. admrs. and assigns to and with the said Stiphen Jones his
heirs Excrs. admrs. assigns that he will warrant and forever Defend the said Land
and premises form me my heirs and assigns forever or any other person or persons
whatsoever laying any lawfull claim or claims unto the said land and premises and
the said Edward Duncan doth farther covenant and engage for him self his heirs and
assigns to and with the said Stephen Jones his heirs and assigns that he or they
shall at the reasonable request for the said Stephen Jones or his heirs or assigns
give any other deed or instrument of writing for the sure making of the write and
title of the said Land to the said Stephen Jones his heirs forever and the said
Stephen Jones may forever hereafter Enter unto have hold use occupy possess and
enjoy the saod Land and premises forever In witness hereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal this sixteenth day of February 1787.
