Cooper Bill of Sale for Negroe State of North Carolina Duplin County Know all men by these presents that I Edward Duncan Executor to the Last will & Testiment of William Duncan decd. Have this day Sold acertain negroe boy by the name of Abert for and inconsideration of the Sum of five hundred and ten dollars to him in hand paid which Negroe boy I the said Edward Duncan executor to the last will and testament of William Duncan Decd. Do warrant and forever defend unto the said Benjamin Cooper his heirs or assigns forever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 9 day of April 1839 Signed and seal in the presents of Witness Kenan Millard Edward Duncan Exr. State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of pleas & Quarter Sessions April Term 1839 The execution of the with in bill of sale is duly proved in open Court by the oath of Kenan Millard the subscribeing witness thereto and is ordered to be registered.
