Edward Dickson To Stephen Wm. Sweatman
Deed 155 acres
This Indenture made the thirteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
hundred and ninety between Edward Dickson of the state of North Carolina and County of Duplin
of the one part and Stephen William Sweatman of said State and County of Dobbs of the other
part Witnesseth that the said Edward Dickson for Diverse good causes and considerations him
thereunto moving But more especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of one Hundred
and thirty pounds current money of the State aforesaid to him in hand well and Truly paid or
secured to be paid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged hath by these presents granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the
said Stephen William Sweaman his Heirs and assigns forever Three certain Tracts of Parcels of
Land situate Lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on the Et. side of Pharezes Creek or
Bowens Beaverdam and Bounded as follows Viz. one peice Begining at a Maple on said Creek Runing
Et. 98 poles to a pine thence So. 64 poles to a Red oak South edge of the Road thence So. 56 Wt.
8 poles to a Black by the south edge of the Road thence as the Road So. 71 Wt. 82 poles to a
stake at the Bridge between three maples on the Creek thence up the creek as it meanders to the
first station containing by survey forty five acres a place know by the name of Stephens old field
also one other Tract of Land Begining at a maple on the Creek the first station of the aforesaid
45 acres thence as said survey Et. 98 poles to a pine thence the other Line So. 64 poles to a
stake by the Road thence as the Road No. 52 Et. 106 poles to a pine at the Cross Roads thence
up the Road north seven Et. 84 poles to a pine thence So. 70 Wt. 200 poles to a gum and thence
as the Creek Down to the first station containing in the whole Ninty acres also one other peice
joining the aforesaid ninety acres formerly the Property of Thomas Crumpton Begining at a Maple
on the Creek at the mouth of a Little Drain thence Down the Creek as it Meanders 44 poles to a
gum Jesse Registers old old corner thence Registers old line north 70 Et. 108 poles to a pine
thence north 33 Wt. 20 poles to a pine in the head of said Drain thence Down said Drain So. 80
Wt. 14 poles to a gum thence Down the drain as it Meanders to some marked gum saplins thence by
a line of Marked trees So. 75 Wt. to the Begining Containg twenty acres by survey which said
surveys contain in the whole one Hundred and fifty five acres be the same more or less. To have
and to hold the said one Hundred and fifty five acres to him the said Stephen William Swetman
his heirs and assigns forever free from all former gifts grants bargains sales Execution Extnets
Troubles in Law whatever and the said Stephen William Sweatman the aforesaid Land and premises
shall and may have hold use occupy enjoy and possess as his own free and Lawful Inheritance free
and Lawfull Inheritance free from all Incumberance whatever the Taxes as they become Due only
Excepted and the said Edward Dickson the aforesaid Land and premises to him the said Stephen
William Sweatman his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend from and against
him the said Edward Dickson his heirs and assigns as also from and against the just and Lawfull
claim of all and every other person or persons whatever who may hereafter Lay any Lawfull claim
to the same In Witness whereof the said Edward Dickson hath hereunto set his hand and seal the
Date first above written
