Edward Dickson To Shadrack Stallings
Deed 206 acres
This Indenture made the thirteenth Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven Hundred and ninety. Between Edward Dickson of the state North Carolina & County of Duplin
of the one part and Shadrack Stallings of the same place of the other part Witnesseth that the
said Edward Dickson for Diverse good causes and consideration him thereunto Moving but more
especially for the valuable consideration of the sum of one Hundred pounds current money of the
state aforesaid to him in hand well and truly paid or secured to be paid by Shadrack Stallings
aforesaid before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, hath by these presents granted bargained sold assigned and set over to the said
Shadrack Stallings his heirs and assigns forever the following Tracts peices or parcels of Land
situate Lying and being in the state and County aforesaid and Bounded as follows Viz. one Tract
containing one Hundred acres formerly Patened by Clifton Bowon Begining at a pine Shardrack
Stallings corner by the Road thence down the Road by Registers Line. So. 2 Et. 112 poles to a
pine Registers corner thence as Registers other line So. 70 Wt. 100 to a white oak in Bartholomow
Murrays or Bowens line thence as said line So. 92 poles to a pine by the ford of the swamp thence
Down said run of Bowens Beaverdam to a white oak thence No. 38 Et. 28 poles to a poplar and small
white oak in a Branch Clarks thence as Clarks line No. 32 Wt. 92 poles to a pine his corner thence
as his other line No. 60 Et. 228 poles to a pine thence No. 77 poles to a pine on Shadrack Stallings
line thence as his line west to the Beg.g also one peice peice or parcel of land East side of said
swamp Joining The Road Begining at a pine stake in the Road by the Bridge at the Creek among three
maples thence the Rod No. 70 Et. 82 poles to a blackjack thence No. 56 Et. 8 poles to a Red oak
thence So. 140 poles to a pine on the Creek by the old Road thence up the Creek as it Meanders to
the first station containing in the whole thirty six acres also one other Tract or parcel of Land
on the East side siad Creek containing seventy acres by Patent Joining to Clarks old Line. Reference
to the paten for the courses and Distances thereof being had may more fully and at Lage appear. To
have and to hold the said three Tracts peices or parcels or Tracts of Land. Which contain in the
whole by surveys Two Hundred and six acres be the same more or Less, to him the said Shadrack Stallings
his heirs and assigns forever and the said Edward Dickson the aforesaid Land and premises to him the
said Shadrack Stallings his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and forever Defend from and
against him the said Edward Dickson his heirs and assigns as also from and against the just and
Lawfull Claim of all and Every other person or persons whatever who may hereafter lay and Lawfull
claim to the same and the said Edward Dickson Doth further warrant the said Lands to be free from
all Incumberance whatever the Taxes only Excepted In Witness whereof the said Edward Dickson hath
hereunto set his hand and seal at Duplin the Date first above written
