(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 549, & 550 Ebenezer Garrason To James Picket Bill of sale for negro Sam Know all men by these presents that I Ebenezor Garrason of the State of North Carolina & County of... have bargained & sold and delivered unto James Picket of the same County & State aforesaid, one negro boy of about eight years old named Sam, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds and do warrant & forever defend the property of said negro, free from the claim of my my heirs executors administrators or assigns or any other person or perosns whatsoever, laying any just or lawfull claim thereunto.
