(Transcribed by David Dunn) Nancy Jane Sullivan (attorney for Merrill Sullivan) to Henderson and Martha Dunn This deed inside the 13th day of January A.D. by Nancy J. Sullivan of the state of North Carolina Attorney for Merrill Sullivan of the state of California of the first part and Henderson B. Dunn and wife Martha Dunn of the second part Witnesses that for and in consideration of the sum of Eighty to the party of the first part in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby duly acknowledged have bargained, sold and conveyed to the party of the second part and to their heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract of land situated in Kennansville Township, Duplin County N.C. on the East side of the N. E. River Bounded as follows; Beginning at a stake on the Kenansville Road the first corner of lot no. 8 and runs as follows; Go 64 W about 230 poles to a stake on the back line there back line reversed to a stake thence N 64 and about 230 poles to a stake on the road thence down the road 16 23/50 poles to the beginning containing forty acres more or less. To have and to hold the above described land and premises to him the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, to be free and clear from the party of the first part their heirs and assigns forever and from the lawful claims of any and all persons.
