Dennis Cannon To Kedar Bryan
Deed for 200 acres of lands
This indenture made the fourteenth day of September in the ninth year of American
Independence and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, between
Dennis Cannon of the State of No, Carolina & County of Duplin of the one part & Kedar Bryan
of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth, that the said Dennis Cannon for and in
consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money to him in hand paid by Kedar
Bryan aforesaid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & he the said Dennis Cannon
hath given granted bargained sold conveyed confirmed assigned and set over to him the said
Kedar Bryan his and assigns forever all tha piece or parcel of land lying & being in the
County aforesaid on the North side of Stewarts Creek, and on the East side of Carr Marsh.
Begining at a persimon at the run of the Carr Marsh, thence down the said run as it meanders
& Buckhall Swamp along John Adkinson's So. 10 Wt. 40 poles to a white oad by the side of the
swamp, James Wiliams's corner, thence No. 85 Et. 42 poles to a white oak, thence straight to
the begining, containing in the whole two hundred acres be the same more or less, being half
the contents of a patten of 400 acres of land granted to Benjamin Williams bearing date the
29th of April 1768 and since be a deed of conveyance made over to the said Kedar Bryan, To
have and to hold to him the said Kedar Bryan his heirs & assigns forever, the said hereby
granted two hundred acres of land and premises withe the appertenances thereunto belonging
in as full and ample manner as he the said Dennis Cannon by his deed of conveyances for the
same could or might enjoy and the said Dennis Connon for himself his heirs executors
administrators doth covenant and engage to and with the said Kedar Bryan his heirs executors
administrators and assigns by these presents to warrant secure and forever defend tha said
Kedar Bryan his heirs executors administrators & assigns in quiet and peacable possession of
all and singular the above bargained and granted two hundred acres of land and premises with
the appertenanes therunto belonging and every part and parcel thereof and that free and clear
and freely and clearly acquited and discharged off and from all and all manner of former or
other gifts grants sales leases mortgages wills judgments executions and fre and clear from
all manner of incumbrances whatsoever except the yearly rents or taxes thereon becoming dut
to the State from and after the date hereof. In witness whereof the said Dennis Connon hath
hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day & date first above written.

Then was the written deed proved in open Court by the oath of Robert Williams and ordered
