DEED TO STOKELY S. BOSTIC 
FROM SARAH E. BOSTIC (1884)

This indenture made the 26th day of January, AD 1884, by and between SARAH E. 
BOSTIC of the County of Duplin in the State of North Carolina of the first part 
and STOKELY S. BOSTIC of the same County and State of the second part 
Witnesseth.  That for and in consideration of the natural love I have for my son 
STOKELEY S. BOSTIC and for the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted and conveyed unto my beloved 
son STOKELEY S. BOSTIC a certain piece or parcel of land in the said County and 
State on the East side of Muddy Creek adjoining the lands of C. W. BOSTIC, 
D. F. THOMAS and others.  Beginning at a stake on the East side of the road,  
D. F. THOMAS  corner and runs S. 80 degrees W. with C. W. BOSTIC'S line about 
140 poles to a stake on the run of Muddy Creek, thence down said run as it 
meanders to a stake D. F. THOMAS corner, thence with his line N. 86 degrees E. 
166 poles to a stake on the road thence, thence up the road N. 21 degrees W. 49 
poles to the beginning, outlining Thirty Eight (38) acres more or less  (1st 
excepting my life estate on the above described land and premises) to have and 
to hold unto my beloved son  STOKELEY S. BOSTIC his heirs and assigns forever.  
To be clear and free from any person or persons claiming under through or by me 
Excepting however my life estate on the same.

     The execution of the written instrument was proven before me by oath of 
	 Jesse Sandlin the witness for the purpose therein expressed this 11th day 
	 of April 1888.

      The foregoing certificate of S. O. Middleton, Justice of the Peace of 
	  Duplin County is adjudged to be correct.  Let the instrument with the
