(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 12 Page 151, & 152 D C Moore To H Bourden Deed 4 3/4 acres This Indenture made this the twelth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine between Daniel C Moore of the one part and Halstead Bourden of the other part both of the County of Duplin and State of North Carolina witnesseth that I the said Daniel C Moore for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to me in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt where of I do hereby acknowledge my self satisfied and contened hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents Do for myself my Heirs Executors administrators and assigns bargained sold and convey unto Halsted Bourden his heirs executors administratros and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in the county and state above mention on the warters of the Golden Grove near the Town of Kenansville begining at a stake on the Road in a direct line with Road ditch leading from Kenansvill and runs So 58 Et 24 poles to a large black gum on the Run of A Branch about So 65 Wt 40 poles to a black gum on the other Road the corner between D C Moore Margaret McGowen thence across the Road No 30 Wt 10 poles to an oak stump in the edge of said Road thence No 34 Et 33 poles to a stake the corenr of the Church lot on the first road mentioned thence South 87 Et 9 poles to the begining containing fore and three quarter acres be there the same more or less together with the John Brown Dwelling House Whereof I the said Daniel C Moore myself my Heirs executors and administrators and assigns for ever warrent and defend the title of the above described Lands & House unto Halsted Bourden his Heirs executors administrators and assigns against the lawful claim or laims of all manor of persons whatsoever in witness where of I do hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above writen signed sealed and delivered in the presents of us at the time of signing and sealing D C Moore Dickson Sloan Wilson Bourden State of North Carolina Duplin County Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions January term 1840 the execution of the within in deed is duly proved in of Court by the oath of Wilson & is ordered to be registered Test James Dickson Clk Copy N Routledge Rgr by E M Routledge
