(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 143, 144, & 145 David Wright To William Ward Bill of Sale for Sundries State of No. Carolina Duplin County Whereas William Ward lately before Thomas Hooks Esquire one of the State Justices of the Peace for the County of Duplin obtained five sundrey Judgements against Samuel Ward for the sum of twenty pounds Each (by warrants) amounting in the whole to the sum of one Hundred Pounds and the Costs thereon for Sundrey services In consequence of the said Judgements amounting in the whole to the sum of four pounds ten shillings and whereas five sundrey Executions did four on the said five Sundrey judgements against the Effects of the said Samuel Ward to me Directed thereby command me that of the Effects of the said Samuel Ward I should raise the said moneys and the Costs thereon amounting in the whole to the sum of one Hundred and four pounds ten shillings. And in pursusance to the said five sundrey Executions to me Directed I have levied upon and sold according to Law the following articles of the property of the said Samuel Ward. To wit 1. Bay Horse Called fidler to William Ward ------L 25.0.6 1. Bay Mare to William Ward------21.0.6 1. Crib of Corn to William Ward-----39.19.6 33. Head of Hogs to William Ward------5.7.6 1. Bed, bedsted & furniture to William Ward------8-2-6 1. Chest and Looking glass to William Ward------0.16.0 1. Cow and Calf & 2 year old bulls to William Ward------5.11.2 L. 105.14.8 And the said William Ward being present at the sale of the said Articles did openly bid off the same at the above said prices and was the last and highest bider now know ye that the said David Wright Constable aforesaid in Consequence of my said office of Constable and in virtue of the said five sundrey Executions on the aforesaid five sundrey judgements and also for and in consideration of the said sum of one Hundred and four pounds ten shillings to me in hand paid by the said William Ward the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge I have Publickly and openly sold unto the said William Ward all and every of the before Recited articles for the consideration of the sum of one hundred and five pounds seventeen shillings and eight pence all which articles I do by these presents warrant and Defend tot he said William Ward his Heirs Exers. & admrs. from and against me my Heirs Exers. & Administrators and from and against all and every other person or persons whatsoever as far as the authority & power of my said office of Constable and the Executions aforesaid will authorize and enablement I do In Witness of whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 15th day of May in the fourteenth year of Independence Anno Domini 1790.
