David Tucker To John Tucker
Deed of 150 acres of lands
This indenture made the seventeenth day of June in the seventh year of American
Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ, one thousand seven hundred and eighty
three, between David Tucker of the State of North Carolina and County of Duplin of the
one part and John Tucker of the same place of the other part, Witnesseth that the said
David Tucker for divers good causes and considerations him therunto moving, buth more
expecially for the valuable consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds specie to him in
hand well and truley paid of secured to be paid by John Tucker aforesaid before the
ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
hath by these presents given, granted, bargained, sold, assigned and set over to the
said John Tucker, his heirs and assigns forever, one certain piece or parcel of land
situate lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on the South side of Stewarts Creek
on the head of clear run above Cook's Mill including said Tucker's improvements. Beginning
in the fork of said Mill Branch below the field thence running up the South or main prong
to the patent line by the great road; thence as the patent line W. 55 East to a pine the
corner of said patent a little South of the road; thence as the paten line No. 35 Et. 250
poles to a pine by the North prong of Clear run, thence down said run by various courses
to the mouth the place of beginning containing by estimation in the whole one hundred and
fifty acres to the same more or less being part of a survey of three hundred and fifty
acres to have & to hold the aforesaid land and premises to him the said John Tucker his
heirs and assigns forever free from all former gifts grants mortgages intails dower right
or title of Dower or any other incumbrance whatever given granted or done by him the said
David Tucker, the aforesaid land and premises to him the said John Tucker shall and will
warrant and forever defend from and against his the said David Tucker his heirs and assign
as also from and against the just & lawful claim of every other person or persons whatsoever
who may hereafter lay any lawful claim to the same. In witness whereof the said David Tucker
hath hereunto set his hand and seal the date above written.
