(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book 1 A Page 17 & 18 David Rees To Thomas Weeks Deed for Sundry articles March the 25th day 1783, Twenty fifth day of March in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & eighty three. Know all men by these presents that I David Rees have made this my deed of gifts of every thing or things that I have or may have of my own just and lawful rights notes bonds horses accte money beds household furniture of every kind and of every thing that is my just right charges and accounts unto my loving friend Thomas Weeks my wife Sabra Weeks's Brother, to him the said Thomas Weeks or his heirs after the death of my wife and myself David Rees, and in case of his death before the receiving of my estate which I acknowledge this to be my true and lawful deed of gifts and further I acknowledge this 25th day of March as above written that I the said David Reese is of a sound and perfect mind and memory before the insealing and signing of these presents & doth warrant and forever defend from and against the just and lawful clain of every other person or persons whatever laying any law writing or claim to the same. David Rees Signed sealed in the presence of us Austin Beesley Mary Beesley State of North Carolina, Duplin County, July Court 1784.
