David Cannon To Kedar Bryan Deed 14 September 1784

(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) David Cannon To Kedar Bryan Deed for 200 acres of lands This indenture made the fourteenth day of September in the ninth year of the American Independence and in the year of Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, between David Conon of the State of No. Carolina and County of Duplin of the one part and Kedar Bryan of the same place on the other part. Witnesseth, that the said David Cannon for and in consideration of the sum of seventy pounds current money to him in hand well and truely paid by the said Kedar Bryan, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and he the said David Connon hath given granted bargained sold conveyed confirmed assigned and set over, and by these presents for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell convey confirm assign and set over unto him the said Kedar Bryan his heirs & assigns forever all that piece or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the No. side of Stewarts Creek and on the east side of Buckhall swamp joining CornMarch branch on David Thompson's old line, and runs thence No. 70 Wt. along his line to his corner a pine, thence So. 62 Wt. 216 poles to a pine McCulloch's corner, thence with his line So. 5 Wt. 54 poles to a blackjack his corner, thence So. 23 Et. 70 pole to a small red oak his corner, thence Et. 76 pole to a persimmon his corner at the run of the CornMarsh branch, thence up the said run as it meanders to the begining, and containing in the whole by estimation two hundred acres of land, be the same more or less it being one half of a tract of 400 acres of land granted by patent to Benjamin Williams bearing date the 29th of April 1768, since by deeding conveyance made over to Dennis Cannon, and by a deed of conveyance to David Cannon, and by these presents made over to Kedar Bryan. To have and to hold the said Kedar Bryan his heirs and assigns the said hereby granted two hundred acres of land and premises, with the appertenances therunto belonging, in as full and ample manner as he the said David Connon by his deed of conveyance fot the same could or might enjoy and the said David Connon for himself his heirs executors administrators and assigns, do covenant and engage to & with the said Kedar Bryan his heirs executors administrators & assigns by these presents to warrant secure and forever defend the siad Kedar Bryan his heirs executors administrators & assigns in the quiet and peacable possession of and singular the above pre bargained and grnated two hundred acres of land and premises with the appertenances thereunto belonging every part and parcel, thereof and that free and clear and freely & clearly acquitted and discharged of and from all and all manner of former or other gifts grants seales leases mortgages wills judgements or executions and free and clear from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever except the yearly rents or taxes thereon due to the State from and after the date hereof. In witness whereof the said David Cannon hath hereunto set his hand and fixed his seal the day and date above written. David Cannon Signed sealed & delivered in presents of W. Sharpless Saml.
