David Alderman to Daniel Alderman

State of North Carolina Duplin County
This Indenture made this seventeenth day of September in the year of our Lord on thousand
seven Hundred and Eighty Eight, and in the Thirteenth year of our Independence, between
David Alderman of the one part and Daniel Alderman of the other part both of the County
and State aforesaid planters Witnesseth, that the said David Alderman for and in consideration
of the sum of one Hundred pounds specie to him on hand paid by the said Daniel Alderman
at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents. The receipt whereof the said
David Alderman doth hereby acknowledge, He the said David Alderman hath granted Bargained,
sold aliened and confirmed, and by these present doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm
unto the said Daniel Alderman his Heirs and assigns forever, a certain Tract or parcel of
Land Situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on both sides of a branch of Rockfish
Creek called Phris's Creek. Begining at a red oak on the south side of the Swamp Daniel
Alderman Senr. upper corner, Thence No. 65 Wt 70 poles to the lower corner of Daniel Alderman's
Junr. line. Thence as his line South 80 Wt 114 poles to a pine Thence Crossing the swamp No
20 Et 166 poles to a pine Thence South 80 Et 247 poles to a white oak, Thence to the first
station, containing one Hundred & Eighty four acres be the same more or Less, being part of
a tract or parcel of Land granted by Patent bearing date November the ninth in the year of our
Lord 1784. Containing Three Hundred and Fifty acres. To the said David Alderman as will more
fully appear by referring Thereto. Together with all Improvement and appurtenances to the said
part belonging or in any wise appurtaining, and all the Estate right Title property claim and
demand of him the said David Alderman his heirs or assigns open or to the said Land and premises
hereby bargained and sold or any part or parcel thereof--To have and to hold, the said premises
above mentioned and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Daniel Alderman his
Heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behoofe or the said Daniel Alderman or his Heirs
and assigns forever, and the said David Alderman for him and his Heirs. The said Land & premises
and every part thereof, against him and his heirs and against all and every other person or
persons whatsoever to the said Daniel Alderman his Heirs and assigns shall and will warrent and
ever Defend by these presents In Witness whereof the said David Alderman hath hereunto set his
hand and seal the day and year first above written.
