(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 300, 301, & 302 Daniel Herring To Owen ODaniel Deed 180 acres This Indenture made this twelveth day of August one thousand seven hundred and ninety and in the thirteenth year of American Independence. Between Daniel Herring and Owen ODaniel both of the state of No. Carolina and County of Duplin. Witnesseth know ye that I the said Daniel Herring for and in consideration of the valuable sum of two hundred pound spece money to me in hand well and truly paid and dun by Owen ODaniel before the Ensealing and Delivery hereof I have bargained sold and forever set over unto the said Owen ODaniel his heirs Executors admirs. and assigns forever one messuage or Tract of Land lying and being in the County of Duplin an state aforesaid and on the north side of Goshen swamp and the Lower side of Herrings mill swamp being part of two surveys Runing as follows Begining at a white oake and Runs 40 poles to an oak and pine thence So. 100 poles to stake at the place known by the name of the old Tantroft not far off of the Mill thence Wt. to the pond thence up the Branch to the Begining containing Eighty acres of Land also paten Dated the 22d day of November 1746. Begining on the other survey at an oak in the Lower part of the Plantation wherethe said Owen ODanile now lives runs Et. 100 poles to a hickory by the head of the great Meadow thence runs a No. course to a consented line between Daniel Herring and Arthur Herring just by the fork of the Road where one goes towards Nuse the other part goes to Burncoat with the consented line to Herrings Mill Branch thence Down the line agreeable to the paten the Begining containing one Hundred acres of Land be the same more or Less paten Date 1764 the same to have and to hold the above bargained and Demised premises freely and clearly from all other rights Titles claims or Demand and further I do bind myself my heirs Executros administrators and assigns to warrant secure and forever Defend the same in manner aforesaid freely and clearly of any other Rights Titles Claims or Demands of any person or persons whatsoever holding or Laying and Lawfull claim thereon as. In witness whereof hereunto I have set my hand and fixt my seal the Day and Date first written. signed sealed and Delivered In the presence of us Daniel Herring William ODaniel John Mainer State of No. Carolina Duplin County July Term 1791 Then was the within deed proved in open Court by the oath of William ODaniel & ordered to be Registered.
