(Transcribed by Joan S Dunn) Deed Book E Page 403, 404, & 405 Charles Huggins To James Huggins Gift Deed 90 acres This Indenture mad the thirteenth Day of September in the Eleventh year of American Independence and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and Eighty Six Between Charles Huggins of Saint Gabriels parish in the County of Duplin in the State of No. Carolina of the one part and James Huggins of the same place and son of the said Charles Huggins of the other part Witnesseth that the said Charles Huggins as well for and in Consideration of the the natural Love and affection which he hath and Beareth unto the said James Huggins his son as also for the better Maintainance and Prefirment of the said James Huggins hath given granted aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant alien enfeoffe and confirm unto the said James Huggins all that Messuage and tenement lying and being in Duplin County aforesaid on the So. West side of Maxfield swamp and So. or Lower side of Jameys Branch beginning at a stooping poplar on the bank of Maxfield Creek a little below the Mouth Jameys Branch thence running So. 65 Wt. 66 poles to a pine Beesleys Corner thence along Beesleys Patten line No. 50 Wt. 127 poles to a poplar in Little Jameys Branch thence along Beeslys other Patten line No. 40 Et. 70 poles to a stake at the Run of Jameys Branch Called the Main prong thence down the same as it Meanders to the mouth and Maxfield run to the first station Containing in the whole ninety acres be the same more or less with all and Singular its appurtenances with houses outhouses and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services of the premises and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of the said Charles Huggins of in and to the said messuage Tenement Lands and premises and of in and to Every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances and all Deeds Evidences and writings Concerning the said premises only in hands or Custody of the said Charles Huggins or which he may get or Comeby without suit in Law to have and to hold the said Messuage or Tenement Lands and premises hereby given and granted or Mentioned or Intended to be given and granted untot he James Huggins his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and Behoof of him the said James Huggins his heirs and assigns forever and the said Charles Huggins for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth and Grant to and with the said James Huggins his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said James Huggins his heirs and assigns shall and Lawfully May from henceforth forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and Enjoy the said Messuage Tenement Lands Heridittaments and premises hereby given and Granted or Mentioned or intended so to be with their appurtenances free Clear and Discharged of and from all former or other gifts grants bargains and from all former or other Gifts Grants Bargains and Sales Feoffments Jointers Dowers Estates Entails Rents Rent charges Arrear ages of Charges and Incumbrances whatsoever and made done committed or suffered to be had made committed done or suffered by him the said Charles Huggins his heirs Executors or administrators or any other person or persons lawfully claiming or to Claim by from or under him them or any or Either of them. In witness whereof the said Charles Huggins hat hereunto set his hand & seal the date above written.
