Benjamin Brown To Alsa Brown

Deed 23 1/2 acres

This Indenture made the sixteenth day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight 
hundred and thirty nine Between Benjamin Brown of the County of Duplin and State of North 
Carolina of the one part and Alsa Brown of the same place of the other part witnesseth that 
the said Benjamin Brown for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty dollars to him in hand 
paid by the said Alsa Brown at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the 
Receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold confirmed and 
conveyed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell confirm and convey unto the said Alsa 
Brown to him his Heirs and Assigns Forever a certain piece or parcil of Land situated lying 
and being in the state & County aforesaid and on the west side of North East River Begining 
at a cypress in cypress Branch thence so 68 Et 20 pole to a pine thence North 52 Et 59 pole 
to a stake thence North 25 wt 62 pole to a black gum in the edge of the pocoson thence No 57 
wt 20 pole in the mouth of the cypress Branch thence up with the Run of said Branch to the 
Begining containing twenty three acres & half more or less all of which Lands with all & 
singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining I do by these 
presents warrant and forever defend to Him the said Alsa Brown from me my Heirs and assigns 
Also from and against the Lawful claim or demand of all manner of Persons in Testimony whereof 
I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and Date first written
